Hi Cobb Families,

Yearbook pre-order forms are due Friday, 5/3! Turn them into Cobb School office.

On Tuesday, Cobb School's 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders enjoyed a field trip to the town of Sonoma to visit the garden of Rudy and Joe from the Santa Rosa Iris Society (SRIS). They've been coming to work with our school garden for the last seven years. We were able to finally visit their garden for a change. Students went through four different stations which were run by the Santa Rosa Iris Society volunteers: photography/art focused on irises, demonstration of hybridizing, staging irises for a show, and learning about types of iris.  These volunteers are award winning experts in each of these areas.  The SRIS paid over $600 in transportation costs, and made lunch for all of our students.

May's Character Ed Focus is Perseverance/Identity. Perseverance is a synonym for grit and determination. It relates to a growth mindset. We are approaching the end of our school year, and persevering to the end, showing our best, and finishing strong are the essence of what we are focusing on in May.  We hope all of those students who are doing CAASPP testing really persevere and do their best.

Our identity has to do with how we see ourselves, and how others perceive us. As we move our way through May, think about how you want others to view you. We all need to ask ourselves: Do my words and deeds reflect the identity I am trying to project to others? Do I see my view of myself in how I act?

Here's what's coming up in May...
