Dear Cobb School Families,

Welcome to the 2018/19 school year!

Please join our Cobb School PTO email list to receive our monthly newsletter and updates about upcoming meetings and events. To join, email CobbSchoolPTO@gmail.com.

Have you taken some great photos that should be included in our yearbook? Please email only the best to CobbSchoolPTO@gmail.com. We can’t guarantee we’ll use every photo but we really appreciate you taking the time to send them. Your photos make our yearbook great!

To help you plan for school fundraisers and understand where your money is going, here is a summary of scheduled fundraising events throughout the year.

  • Turkey Trot. The main PTO fundraiser held at Cobb School is the Turkey Trot. You’ll be receiving more about this fundraiser soon. Held in November, it is a great event with lots of running and school t-shirts for all students! Proceeds are used to pay for assemblies, field trips, fun events like Fall Carnival and Family Fun Night, playground equipment, classroom supplies, teacher appreciation week, and much more.

  • Original Works. Our main fundraiser for 6th Grade Science Camp is Original Works. Your children create unique works of art and then you can purchase products featuring their masterpieces. Your order will be delivered at the beginning of December making this a great option for holiday gifts. All proceeds go to 6th Grade Science Camp. Your yearly support of this program, whether you have a 6th grader or not, ensures your child will get to experience this amazing program when the time comes.

  • Crab Boil. A crab boil dinner and silent auction are held annually at Moore Family Winery. During this event, we raise nearly ALL of the funding needed for our school garden. In January, each class puts together a themed class basket to be auctioned at this event. A $5 donation towards the purchase of basket items is requested. We really appreciate your contributions and participation in this lively event!

  • Penny Wars. Held in March, Penny Wars is a great way to get rid of your extra change. Classrooms compete against each other to raise the most money. Dollar bills and pennies count towards the classroom, silver coins count against it so kids get to sabotage other classrooms. The winning classroom gets a POP party (popcorn, popsicles, and pop music). Proceeds are divided between the classrooms and student council.

  • Boggs Forest Fundraiser. Each year, we try to give back and provide a way for students to participate. This year, we’ll be helping Friends of Boggs to raise the money they need to rebuild trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Look for more information in January.

  • Any proceeds from following are distributed as follows:

    • Santa Breakfast, school photos, and snacks sold at Open House (PTO)

    • Snacks sold at the Winter performance and Talent Show (Band Program)

    • Garden t-shirts (Garden program)

  • Classroom specific or project specific fundraisers may also be held throughout the year, as needed.

Thank you so much for your help and contributions toward our school's fundraising goals!

Your ongoing support makes our school great!
